I tend to freak out a bit whenever I hear of people using Vinegar or Windex on their expensive stainless steel appliances to clean them. Here is a guide to the proper care of your stainless steel appliances: Never use Vinegar. The acidic nature of Vinegar can damage the surface. Avoid using Windex as the ammonia in Windex may also cause damage. Never use bleach as it may pit the surface.
Other products and chemicals to avoid are:
The best way to clean the fridge is just with a damp cloth, (we use microfibre cloths). Dry the surface with another soft cloth, and you are ready to polish. We use Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish to shine and protect the surface. To apply have an old hand towel ready for buffing , we fold the towel for use. The trick is to buff up the polish very quickly after it is applied. Spray the appliance with the polish and quickly spread the product evenly over the appliance with one side of the folded towel. Then flip over the towel and buff the surface to an even shine. For Rust Stains you may want to purchase a product called Innoshine Rust Remover B570 . Follow the directions and always rub with the grain of the metal.
